Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 29, 2026

Overview

Pivyo ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Modima Labs. Privacy is a core principle of the app. Pivyo does not require an account, does not collect personal information, and stores all of your focus data locally on your device. This policy explains what data the app stores, what device permissions it may request, and which third-party services it uses.

Data Stored on Your Device

All of the following data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not have access to any of it.

  • Focus session history, duration, and completion statistics
  • Session notes, tags, and project assignments
  • Post-session mood reflections
  • Streak and goal progress
  • Achievement unlock status
  • Custom focus presets and timer preferences
  • Ambient sound preferences and volume levels
  • Theme and appearance settings

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself via the CSV export feature in Settings.

Device Permissions

Pivyo may request the following permissions. Each is optional and requires your explicit consent through standard iOS permission prompts.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you enable the Apple Health integration, Pivyo writes your completed focus sessions and breathing exercises as Mindful Minutes in the Health app. Pivyo also reads your Mindful Minutes data to display daily and weekly totals within the app. No health data is sent to us or any third party.

Calendar (EventKit)

If you enable calendar integration, Pivyo reads your calendar events to provide smart scheduling suggestions for focus sessions. Calendar data is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to us or any third party.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Pivyo sends local notifications for session reminders, streak alerts, and timer completion. These are generated on your device and do not use a remote push notification server.

Siri & Shortcuts

Pivyo provides App Intents that let you start focus sessions, check your streak, and control the timer using Siri or the Shortcuts app. These intents are processed on your device by iOS.

Analytics

Pivyo uses PostHog to collect usage analytics. This helps us understand which features are used and improve the app. PostHog does not use advertising identifiers and does not track users across apps. The data collected includes:

  • App launch and screen view events
  • Feature usage signals (e.g., session started, sound enabled)
  • Anonymous device metadata (device type, OS version)
  • Session replay recordings (all text and images are masked)

For more information, see PostHog's privacy policy.

Third-Party Services

Pivyo uses the following third-party services:

  • RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat processes transaction data provided by Apple and does not receive any of your focus session data. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
  • PostHog: Usage analytics and session replay as described above. See PostHog's privacy policy.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Names, email addresses, or any personal identification information
  • Account credentials (no account is required)
  • Location data
  • Photos, contacts, or microphone access
  • Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

Your Rights

You can:

  • Export all of your focus data as a CSV file from Settings at any time
  • Revoke any device permission (Health, Calendar, Notifications) in iOS Settings
  • Delete all of your data by deleting the app from your device

Children's Privacy

Pivyo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require account creation and does not collect personal data from any user.
